My son is 19 months old and climbs the stairs fairly well. We have an open staircase - one false move and he could be on the basement stairs. My 14-month-old son has never liked travelling in his car seat. Sometimes he will entertain himself for a little while, or sleep, but more often than not he complains, cries and even howls about being in the seat. We've tried entertaining him, but I can't always do this. Besides, I want him to accept and like being in the seat. Do you have any advice? We would like to take an eight-hour trip to visit relatives, but I'm afraid it will be a miserable time for all of us.
